The picture was taken in the Devonian Botanic Garden, Canada's most northerly botanic garden. I didn't give the flower a hairdo. It struck me how much it resembles the aperture in a camera, only an early stage of development of this flower looks like this, later the flower is very bushy.

This flower looks cool. I like it, compared to many of the other straight on shots in this competition. Lovely colours. Would be nice to see it without the somewhat distracting background - with a new photoshoped backgraound in a colour that would bring out the flower even better. Maybe for the prints section?. 10 from me

What an interesting flower! It does look like an aperture!!!!! Your depth of field is excellent - you flower is sharp as can be and your background very nicely blurred out! And your colors are nice and rich!

Great title! Did you give the flower a hairdo?? Perfect exposure - nice colors. Background is ok - slightly distracting - but not much you could have done.
