It's a Sears machine. For a fascinating glimpse of sewing-machine history and predatory marketing/pricing, see //www.ismacs.net/sears/sears.html -- your machine is mentioned there.
"In 1933, Sears introduced the extremely futuristic (and ugly) Franklin De-Luxe rotary. The machine was apparently not at all popular, lacking the tradition decalcomania and japanned finish. It later reappeared in Sears' 1938 catalog, renamed the Kenmore De-Luxe."

I'd hold onto it for a while, cool machine. :-)

Fab B&W, unfortunate sharpening/compression artefacts (not sure which and it could just be my screen), great find though, plenty of macro and close-up opportunities ;) |

Well seen, & good B&W. Thanks, but you can keep the machine. |

Interesting image, but there seems to be a lot of artifacts from processing. Maybe over sharpening? |

Gorgeous. Great DOF and processing and wonderfully embodying the relationship between form and function. These old sewing machines are wonderfully sturdy aren't they. I recently had a chance to use Bear_music's grandmother's machine while staying at his sister's house, and that was a treat. I was actually glad that running out of time to complete my sewing task before the trip led to that opportunity. I especially love the detail of the bits of lint, highlighted so well in this back/side lighting. |

well found and composed, but seriously oversharpened, leaving a lot of artefacts |
