 This was shot with a ~28 year-old Mamiya 55/1.8 prime lens. The roof of the abandoned Washburn/Crosby flour mill in Minneapolis has an extremely large red neon sign reading "GOLD MEDAL FLOUR" that lights up one word at a time and repeats. The mill is a favorite of mine photographically and otherwise, and I thought it would be a fitting subject for the neon challenge. Rather than putting the sign legibly in the picture, I decided to experiment with letting the sign illuminate the very faint fog that was beginning to show up without actually showing the sign.

The only editing is a contrast tweak, and a bit of USM.

I like the composition overall but it really does not grab me for the neon theme, but altogether its good

for this challenge I would have liked to see a little more red comming off of the sign/billboard...I like the lines of this pic. a small rotation or pre photo positioning to the right would help...the sky is clear and a great contrast ++for the star trails ++ for not the standard neon sign

Fantastic show. I love how you hit the neon aspect of the challenge but showing out the light propogates outward -- almost like a behind the scenes view of what is going on with the billboard.
