Greetings from the Comment Bomb Squad!
I am just going through your profile looking for a few images without a lot of comments in order to give you some feedback on your shots.
I think this shot has very good technicals. The exposure, focus and color are all great, the composition of the drummer, leaning slightly forward, works well to bring me into the frame. Alos the inclusion of the cymbal is important for the environmental portrait. You got great gold tones on the metal, and the motion blur of the drum sticks moving adds that needed forth dimension on any photograph, movement or time.
As an environmental portrait, there are some included elements that act as distractions. The plant in the forground, the person in the background and the hanging thing in the top right corner. Perhaps these were all included because they were out of your control to move the items, or recompose the picture by changing your position. As a challenge image, those distractions really need to be minimized. As a part of your personal collection, not really that big a deal. The background can be blurred to minimize distractions. The plant in the foreground really does interfere with the subject though. But again, it is understood that it could not really be moved.
I personally voted this shot a 7. I enjoyed it as an environmental portrait and as a part of the Movember challenge. I think you got a nice spread of 6 votes there and it is really a shame about the 1 and 2 voters. They are serious trolls!! LOL!!
