OK - my first foray into the world of Expert Editing! (Quite possibly my last as well.) Had this idea about 20 hours before rollover, took about 14 pics of my daughter before I got an 'acceptable' expression, 10 shots of scrunched up paper, 4 shots of 'flat' paper. Wandered off to cook dinner, then came back to edit. The individual shots of scrunched paper weren't working for me so I put a few things on a chair, took 4 shots, picked one and used it. I decided near the end that it needed another bit of paper in the top left to balance it out, took another 2 shots and used one.
I would have liked to add pencil shavings, smudge marks and that sort of thing, but oh well...
I hope you like it!
It's not a drawing - I wish I could do portraits that well...

Thought I would add my response to Giles comment so people don't think I was offended in any way - this is the pm I sent:
Seriously - thanks for the comment. I know it's not a great image and I'm NEVER worried by honest criticism.
So, people, feel free to criticize anything of mine at any time - I NEED you to... |

the drawing was to "sketchify" in photoshop needed to be softer and less a photo and sharp for me, i did not like the tonal difference between the bright "drawing" and the screwed up paper, the discarded paper and pencils have to much of a staged feel, i know it was staged of course but shouldnt feel that way to me. good idea but it didnt wow me, infact i scored it a 4 which may have been harsh but i felt it was a little gimmicky. sorry, but honesty is the best policy Giles. |

Amen to this. You forgot the eraser. The artist's best friend is sometimes the garbage bin. |
