Hi Pam, not sure what kind of butterfly it is. A fairly common one, doesn't have much colour. Michele |

Dead of winter here, and I'm so over it, so I think I'll just sit and stare for a few minutes. |

Oh, how pretty! I like how the magenta contrasts with the green of the surrounding foliage. |

One of my favourite lenses. I've got snow, snow and more snow here, so it's a nice to see some colour |

Love the way the moth and the flowers compliment each other! |

I don’t know why but the moth is the first thing I noticed. I love the way you’ve captured its tongue collecting nectar. The colours are beautiful and she shallow DoF works very well. Lovely. |

Missed the butterfly the first time I looked. That says a lot for my eyes....sigh. Nice shot. Love the soft background. It really makes the stamens stand out. |

I like the detail on the cabbage moth (?) and the almost powdery wings. |

Flowers... never know what to say about flowers... they're pretty? Wow... just noticed the butterfly (or is it a moth). Very nice. |

Flowers looks like butterflies, very nice. My suggestion is, use that lens more often!
Btw. Just noticed the butterfly after writing the comment, guess she fits well with the flowers :) |

i like the shallow dof and the muted tones, love playing with my sigma 50mm 1.4 :), maybe being critical the butterfly is a bit to bright |

kasaba, sorry but I didn't take note of the bush but I'll try and remember next time I go to write it down if it is tagged. It was certainly a magnet for the butterflies.
Melethia & joman, I like both your comment on the stamens, never thought that way but you are each right :)
stalice, I hope I don't disappoint.
colorcarnival, I hardly ever use this lens. Bought it on impulse (for portraits) but always seem to pick up my 24-105mm each time I go out. Made myself use it today. It's lovely at f2.8, which is what I used for this shot, but at f1.4 just a bit too soft at this distance I think.
Thanks all for your kind comments.

This is a lovely shot - you don't happen to know what bush that is (the name of it, either latin or coloquial would be nice)? Sorry, this is probably not the purpose of your picture :-), but I love plants and this looks beautiful and worth "hunting" for. |

Your visitor is almost hiding! The stamens on the flowers mimic the antenna on the moth. Really nice colors. |

delecate and charming - and that's before seeing the butterfly.
Your work is going to be a treat for the eyes this year. |

The flowers look like they're showing off to the butterfly. 'Call those antennae? THESE are antennae!' (Even though they're not.) |
