The reason why I went the way of a non-lit cig, is because I quit several years ago and did not want to light it. My grandson played model to me and although almost 15 years, he does not smoke either. So I was stuck with an unlit cigarette which I still have, it was lend to me for the picture.

Ironically, I think that if the cigarette was lit that would have worked well with the picture and idea . . . something about it being unlit gives an uneasy feeling of anticipation that smoking is about to BEGIN. Of course, that might be your whole point, to demonstrate the perpetual anticipation that accompanies addiction. I like.
