Last Saturday, I was on an 8-mile hike with a group in western Washington county. About 1.5 miles from the end of the hike, we had to go out on a promontory to view the valley below and had to step across a 20 inch crack in the bluff which was 20 feet deep. While crossing, one of the members noticed something moving below. When we looked closer, we saw this little fellow - traumatized, malnourished, and barely alive. One of the hikers was thin enough to chimney down and bring him up. We couldn't leave him there so carried him out and rather than see him go to the animal shelter, my wife and I agreed to give him a home. We've named him Rocky, in part because of where he was found and in part because he has that "never give up" spirit. A couple of good meals ans two baths and he's starting to get his puppyhood energy back!

Oh my what a cutie! And what a great story! Just think, if you guys had not been hiking that day. I wonder how long that poor babe had been stuck there. And how he even got there in the first place. Truly, what a heartwarming story this is.

dandavis. What a splendid story. I hope Rocky is a friend to you for many years to come.
And that you document his life. This picture is a grand start.

Ohhhhh - what a cutie and such a touching story.
I must say he doesn't look very "malnourished" on this photograph ;-)
From a photograph point of view, you could probably show him off better on a darker or different colour blanket. I will be looking out for "Rocky pics" in the challenges ;-)
