Interesting picture which I quite like. The focus is very good. DOF is fine. Color and levels are good. Composition is strong. In short, it's technically a good photo.

But I had to try too hard to like it. When I look at the thumbnail, the little tree is invisible. I almost never opened the photo to look at it full sized. One thing I try (sometimes unsuccessfully) to do is to be sure the thumbnail is also an interesting picture in and of itself. That way people will open it to see the rest. If not, it may go unopened.

Even full sized however, the contrast between the subject fetal tree and the trunk and background behind it makes it hard to pick out the subject. The colors of the small tree and the background are nearly equally saturated also making it hard to pick out the subject.
