Open Koran with cross on top. With everything going on in the world today I thought this would be a powerful image. I made the cross out of a a fallen branch and string. The Koran was a gift from a coworker. I made minor changes to contrast and brightness in Photoshop Elements.

Nice shot. The framing is a plus to the photo.

Excellent lighting and composition. I normally don't care much for borders - but this one works for the image quite well. Thanks for sharing.

Terrific picture, although "hope" is more implied than represented here. Additionally, I wish the book were in a different angle or better focused, because I had a little hard time seeing the Arabic letters and figuring out that it was Koran (Of course, it might also be that it's about time I cleaned my contact lenses).

This is a excelent photo. Good compostion and lightning. The only thing that bothers me is that I can't see the conection with hope when I look at it.

Wow .. I wish everybody had colors like this .. very nice picture .. the wodden cross is very nice .. lighting is great too ... I dont mind the shadows created by the cross ... the color of the light is nice too .. a yellowish tone. Compostion is perfect .. and the border works really really well to bring your eye right into the image and keep it there. deserves more than 10/10.

Great lighting! I love the textures of the cross and rope against the paper.

Very risky photo in this forum.

I like the composition, colors, levels and DOF. Clearly there is a terrific emotional kick, and point of view here. Very well done. This is among my top picks for this challenge.
