Love the leading lines but that silhouette of a man is a wonderful surprise. |

This definitely has a cinematic/graphic novel feel. Also, yes, the grain is over the top - but primarily because the grain structure doesn't seem to match the image - it seems too regular, or perhaps too sharp. It seems more like a lo-res digital color shot, flipped to black and white. |

Nice experiment that definitely worked. |

This is a painstakingly executed pointilist dream. I like it and agree that it belongs as an illustration in a novel. |

Fortunately, side-challenges are for experimenting.
IMO it works beautifully the way it is. Sure the figure could be more
pronounced, but I like to think of it as one of the surprises you come
across when exploring the whole of the image. |

I'm a fan of everything you have done here. There's never too much grain for me. But it's got far more than grain going for it |

I really like the grain, actually. I agree with bassbone; it looks like something out of a graphic novel. Or a charcoal drawing. |

Take away half the grain and you have an awesome shot!

the tilt, the diagonal lines leading across, the grain, the placement of the man - it is like an introductory chapter in some graphic novel about NYC |

Neil I like that you're experimenting, always a good thing. The grain/noise filter might be a little heavy handed do you think? Can you highlight the figure in some way? Like the camera angle, Michele |
