its the end of a stick with mud on it, which infact was a fishing rod with a fish he'd caught....

had my 550ex on as well in ettl set to high speed sync for fill light

Lovely soft portrait. Have you shot through a chain link fence or similar? I don't know what the oof dark line/area is across his jacket and onto the hat.

sure is, hes gets broad range of musical education from the beatles, zeplin, motown, to modern day white stripes, arctic monkeys, kings of leon etc
