 I was totally caught off guard with this. Last year I had been planning a Valentine's photo (likely because I was doing the 365 project then), but this year when the speed challenge came up I didn't know what I would do. After a fantastic dinner with my wife I thought of the super cliché, yet fun Scrabble style shot. Starting out with Love and Valentine, I worked my way through a number of lovey-dovey words.

Then came the photo. I haven't used my 50mm much lately, so I was hell bent on using that. I came up with a composition I liked, so next was the lighting. I used a single flash shot through an umbrella. The flash was camera right, just a little higher than the camera and slightly pointed down. I used the built in diffuser to really spread out the light.

Post Processing;
* White balance
* Increase black point
* Increase definition
* Decrease saturation with higher vibrancy
* Topaz Adjust 5
* White balance
* Sepia tone at 18%
* Export as TIFF
* Resize
* Sharpen Edges
* Save as JPEG

Scrabble is my favorite game, and I LOVE how all the worlds are related to love/valentines. Great image. My favorite so far!
