Love the image; question the symbolism. Hope so transitory; colors so dark and foreboding. Central blotch in clouds looks out of place. Couldn't get the photo out of my mind. Kept coming back to it. Really nice effort and composition.

I liked the picture until i saw "hope" written in the sand. i'd rather see a cool picture that's off topic than to see a good picture made completely lame with an attempt to make a connection that really doesn't exist. This is the most blatant this round.

Having said that, photoshop that word out, and adjust the contrast and saturation a bit. I love the picture, despite the stupid word written in the sand.

Moody - I like the overall blue cast for this. Compositon is OK - but it seems the rock and the word should probably be a bit closer together. Overall a strong image that should do well.

I like this photo - the simplicity is what makes it beautiful. Good idea and well done.

Had to come back and bump this one up even higher after it was stuck in my head for two days. Even if it is a little contrived, it's still a gorgeous picture.

Very clever. Nice colors. Something disturbing in the top center, a bird?

I don't like the footprints up to the writing but the photo conveys emotion.

Nice shot. I like the dark moody sky and sea. The reflection of the rock is fantastic. The hand-scralled "hope" in the fore ground could have been cheesy, but in this case it works very well. I suspect the water will obliterate it soon, but in fact, that's is one of the emotional strengths of the photo. Hope is a transient for most people. Maybe my monitor is too dark, but if I were editing this, I might have brightened it just a bit. Still among my top 10 picks this time.

It would have been a nice photo if the foot print were going the other side of the camera eye...
