Biography: |
I live in Spring, Texas, USA. Spring is a suburb of Houston, Texas. My background in photography goes back to 1968. I sold Photographic Equipment at Neiman Marcus in Dallas, as a young man working my way through college (Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, USA). I was allowed to use all of the cameras in the store, both still cameras and movie cameras, that Neiman Marcus sold. In the 1960's and 1970's Neiman Marcus was a significant retailer of high-end Photographic Equipment >>>>> Nikon, Leica, Pentax, Minolta, Mamiya, Carl Zeiss, Minox, Rollieflex, Hasselblad, Linhoff, Bolex, and Beaulieu Movie cameras. I was fortunate to meet some of the leading photographers in the world who would often come to Neiman Marcus when they were in Dallas. We had product that was hard, if not impossible, to find anywhere else. I spent two weeks working with Ernst Hass //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_Haas, while he did an exclusive One Man Art Show of his limited editions photographs at Neiman Marcus. He told me that "Good is the worst enemy of Great. Most people settle for Good, and never get any better. Most anybody with a camera can get a good photo. Only a few can shoot a photo that nobody has ever seen before. Show Me something I have never seen before. Show me something Great" |
