Biography: |
I was born in Cairo, Egypt, and came to the U.S. as a baby. Subsequently, I lived in the US and Canada for the rest of my life, living the majority of my life in New Mexico.
I was always interested in drawing and doodling and cartooning. I also would often sing, much to the derision of the other school-children. It was natural that I would get into computer graphic arts, and musicianship. I'd work on one, then the other, and use each one as a way to keep the other fresh.
In the meantime, in school, I achieved my Masters Degree in marine biology, and pursued that profession.
But in 2000, I had a tremendous opportunity. I got a job that called on me to use my photography skills along with my photoshop skills. I had limited experience at that time with studio photography, so my boss arranged for me to apprentice with some famous Smithsonian photographers. This experience was a revolution for me, as that is when I first discovered the power of combining high-resolution imaging with image-processing and manipulation.
I was hooked and began a strong obsession with photography, particularly digital. Now, I freelance, as well as shoot for the National Park Service. I shoot models, portraits, events, musicians, architecture, objects, and wildlife, as well as personal art.
