Biography: Photography started as a hobby for me a few years back. As I got into it more, I wanted to find out what other people thought of my work, and further wanted to sell my photos. I joined a couple of photo sites, including DPC.
I think this site can be frustrating to people. I use to get very upset about my photos not scoring as well as I thought they should in challenges, but since joining this site, I have had some success with my photography. I've been on the cover of, and contribute to one magazine regularly, and have been featured in another. I've sold some framed work, and done senior pics, anniversary parties, and wedding photos. All this, and I've never gotten a ribbon, or even been in the top ten of a challenge here! It doesn't bother me so much anymore if my photos don't score as high as I would like. I've come to the conclusion that #1, I have to be happy with my shot no matter what other people think of it, and #2, I believe this is a harder crowd to please, because most of the people here,( I know not everyone is), are photographers of many levels, and have their own ideas about how a photo should be taken! So, don't be discouraged if you don't make the scores you thought you should have! Keep entering those challenges and push yourself to try different things! My favorite photos to take are nature and macro shots, but this site stretches one's limits and makes you be creative in your thinking, and that is always a good thing!

    Happy shooting!
