Biography: I love photography. Had a little photography business going twenty years ago doing a few weddings, some newspaper work, a little commercial photography and sold a few pritns to Country Folkart magazine. Then the kids became teenagers and this single dad needed to refocus his attentions on them. Well, they're all raised, married and giving me grandchildren. Cool. Time for me to have hobbies and play again. But this time it's with digital. While I feel it's very similar to shooting slide film for the exposure the game really has changed with all this processing. It's fun, but I have a lot to learn about the capabilities of the PC.

I looked this site over pretty well for a while before I decided to jump in. It looks like a great place to learn and to share with a lot of friendly knowledgable people from all walks of life. Hope I learn a lot and also hope I can help a few others along the way. I'm probably a better critique than a photographer. I know what makes a good photo, I just don't often get to that point myself. I really like the idea of the weekly challenges here. It should give me a reason and a focus on new things to shoot.
Update: Now retired, moved back to my hometown and even started a photography club. Life is good.
