Not sure what white balance you use, but I almost always set it to tungsten and shoot in RAW when doing this atop the Green Mountains in Vermont. Tungsten blue gives a nice effect. In Vermont, where I camp, there is little light pollution and that does help make for a cleaner image.

Thanks for the explanation of the speedlights setup. Nice result. You make it look pretty easy... the lighting does not get in the way of the viewing, is what I mean.

Nice design. The visual path works well. My suggestions. Get a few bits of card or foamcore and prop up the background so that it does not rest on the subject flowers grass etc. That way, you get the subject in focus and the background out of focus... Just make sure that extraneous light does not bleed in from the sides...
