Better than when last I posted.
Alas, it's currently the first one in a good while that is under my average received vote.
Good comments. I didn't notice something that I probably could have fixed with advanced editing. Don't think the changes would have supplemented the score too much better, but I still wish I noticed 'em!

Gotta say I'm with vawendy.

Lots of photos are failing to convey sound to me. Therefore I am marking them as a DNMC. Whether the photographer believes otherwise is immaterial really, as it's my vote, and I'll vote on how I perceive the image. If my perception is flawed so be it. If we all voted the same way, challenges would be very boring. It's good and natural that each viewer will get/take something different from an image.

In the Chalk challenge, I was 1 of 4 people to give a 7 to the brown ribbon winner. So what do I know?! :-)

Did ya comment on the DNMCs to communicate your opinion? Might make people happier if they understood the potential 1 they received.

Always. I usually add that it's my perception that it's a DNMC just to clarify that I'm not saying the photographer is wrong, just that I don't get it :-)

Good point on the perception thing. I don't always put a comment with my 1's, because I feel like I'll get burned for it. But making it clear that this is how I see it somewhat alleviates that. So, I just went in the Sound voting and commented on my DNMC votes.

BTW, I too agree with Larry and Wendy that there are a number of shots which just didn't seem to fit.

I'll always comment if I give out a DNMC. I also don't give really low votes for DNMC unless it's an incredibly blatant attempt to completely avoid the challenge. It seems like dropping them 4, 5 or more points it awfully harsh, just because I might not get what they're trying to say. Imo, it's more like a technical problem. I'm not going to give a 1 or 2 just because a photo's not technically perfect, so why give a 1 or 2 because meeting the challenge isn't technically perfect? If it's blatantly ridiculous, that's one thing. If an attempt was made, just not made well, that's another.

Slowly creeping up to stay above my average(may be). Where were you all the good voters earliers? Too many lurkers, double the views.

This has held pretty steady all week. Looks like this will be my second highest score to date.

I was busy voting on the other challenge. It's never over till it's over, right?
