I recently bought a film camera through kijiji to get the minolta 50mm 3.5 macro. It also came with a minolta 55mm 1.9 ( now my second one) and a takumar 55mm 1.8.
I plan on selling two of the 55mms. My question is, is the takumar that much better ( as I have read) to justify the purchase of an adaptor that I don't have just to test it?
I have found that both minotlas aren't that great wide open, but perform really well around f4. I will be using it on a sony a6000.
Any real world experience?

Is the Takumar in M42 mount? If it is, and you already own the A6000, you should pick up a $25 M42 to E-Mount adapter anyway - just to experiment if nothing else. It's a lot of fun and there is a whole world of vintage glass to check out!

With the A7m2 I'm shooting with M42 glass at about 75% now. Hardly go with an E-Mount 'auto' lens anymore (or even an A-Mount with converter).

Yes, it's the screw mount. Just wasn't sure if I should spend $25 on the mount to find no real difference compared to the minolta. I would only end up selling the lens for $40-50. Don't need three 55mm lenses.

I guess what I'm saying is you would (if you want to experiment) find other uses for the adapter. The cool thing I find is you play pretty cheap and you never know when you may find that "gem"! :-)

I second Barry's opinion... there is a lot of nice M42 glass out there. Fun to be had.

After buying the A6000 I bought a couple of M42 lenses: Takumar 50 1.4 and 50 Oreston 1.8. I'm having fun with them. Otherwise I use Metabones Speedbooster I already had for my FS700 Camera.
