It's great to see someone take a very traditional shot and bring new life to it! Congrats!

Breath-taking shot! Congrats.
10/06/2005 10:16:30 AM
Thanks for all the great comments. I'm so happy to finally win a ribbon.
The photo was the results of an eight mile hike, which I shot around 150 images of the aspen trees from ground level. No filters were used, the sky is that color blue at 10,000' elevation.
Thank's
Jim Sapp

A breathtaking angle to lead the eye ever upwards. Congratulations on your RED!
10/05/2005 01:17:14 PM
WOW! Great shot!
10/05/2005 12:15:20 PM
dude, congrats on the red. I will be back in FT. Collins in Novemeber for the weekend but I've heard most of the colors have already changed so I probably won't even go looking. While growing up we had a cabin outside of Fraiser and loved going into Winter Park for the ice festivals in the winter and craft fairs in the summer. You're really making me homesick with all the great Colorado images...but that's a good thing cause your images are exactly like I remember. Great job.
10/05/2005 11:18:41 AM
I was expecting a shot looking up at trees to do well, but this one is fantastic...good work!
10/05/2005 10:25:00 AM
Congratulations on your first ribbon... very cool shot!
10/05/2005 09:46:02 AM

10/05/2005 09:35:08 AM
NIce color and composition!
10/05/2005 08:45:13 AM
i love the saturation in this picture. Did you use any filters during this one? It looks like maybe a polarizer, but i'm not sure of the rules. Great Shot. I wish I lived in the Rocky's.
10/05/2005 08:38:44 AM
This is very lovely! Nice work and congratulations!
10/05/2005 07:25:42 AM

10/05/2005 12:48:32 AM
Beautiful. The expressed texture of the bark is exceptional. Congrats!
10/05/2005 12:46:32 AM
Wow. I didn't get a chance to vote in this challenge but this is an instant favorite. Amazing view. Wonderful choice of subject and I like how close you are to the one tree trunk. It makes you feel like an ant or an insect crawling up it.
10/05/2005 12:20:57 AM
Fantastic shot. It like I can feel it go up. It's the first and only tree perspective I have liked. I wished i would have seen it and helped you get up there. Congratulations.
10/05/2005 12:13:05 AM
Makes me dizzy if I look at it too long! Congratulations on an outstanding image!
10/05/2005 12:03:00 AM
Congrats!! This got one of my few 9's.

Seem like a bean stalk.....lol.... very clear and sharp... 10
10/04/2005 12:38:19 PM
This is a cool photo. I noticed a lot of photos like this. However, none of them were as colorful or as sharp as yours. I gave it a ten.
10/04/2005 12:12:43 AM
this is really good - the best tree perspective in the group
10/03/2005 08:39:54 PM
i love aspen trees! this is a nice take.
10/03/2005 05:15:50 AM

10/02/2005 06:54:53 PM
Beautiful, beautiful image!! (just want to say I ranked this a 10, the highest in the contest, I hope it does really well!)
10/02/2005 09:05:53 AM
That sky colour is amazing (did you use a filter to get the blues so deep?). The chocie to shoot up along the trunck works well here IMO and adds a nice focal point rather than just standing in the woods and shooting up. Good luck
10/01/2005 12:32:03 PM
This image meets the challenge. Photographiclly - clean, clear, and crisp. Good Luck!
10/01/2005 11:15:56 AM
Nicely done, great colors and clarity.
10/01/2005 12:40:08 AM
Ooooohhh, I love the birch trees and the white of their trunks is shown well against the darker blue sky and autumn leaves. I like it. 8
09/30/2005 06:10:42 PM
One of the nicer tree pictures in the challenge. The color works well.
09/29/2005 10:41:16 PM
remarkable photo.
09/29/2005 05:08:43 PM
Yes. This is a great color combination to me. More yellow would work. The angle is steep but I like it for this photo.
09/29/2005 11:31:29 AM
awesome...nice to see a good "from the ground up"..!! 10
09/29/2005 12:01:17 AM
Perfect perspective and nice complimenting colors of yellow and blue. I like this one a lot and I expect it to do well. Great job!
09/28/2005 10:32:22 PM
One of my favorites in this challenge. The air looks so crisp. Where was the picture taken?
09/28/2005 04:02:43 PM
Very cool! I love the colors and the angle of view. Maybe a little less of the tree trunk on the right and this would be a top tier image :)
09/28/2005 03:15:45 PM
Many, MANY, tree shots in this challenge. You did great with this one! The way you composed this with the main tree going from bottom right to center does a wonderful job of leading the viewer to the top of the trees and into that rich blue sky. I can almost picture myself being there. Nice job on a simple subject. Good luck in the challenge.
09/28/2005 11:26:51 AM
This is the first tree sky picture I didn't give a 2 to. Nice mix. I like this one.
09/28/2005 04:32:10 AM
MAKES ME WANT TO BE THERE.
09/28/2005 02:30:38 AM
interesting depth of field. good exposure under conditions.
09/28/2005 01:31:42 AM
very cool angle I like it alot, saturation and contrast look good as well.
09/28/2005 12:33:20 AM
Wonderful perspective. The rich blues of the sky and the deep golds of the trees are perfectly suited to contrast one another here. The composition is so well done! Bravo.
