 Was goin go name this "Modern day stooges" or "Larry, Moe & Curly" but it just didn“t fit somehow and I couldn“t come up with a better title. The guys names are Bjarki, Birkir and Daši. You may remember Birkir from my Environmental Portrait shot, Daši came along and helped me with that shoot.



Anyway, last minute submission, took this at about 11 PM and sent in very late.

Processing is pretty minimal, just raw conversion + curves adjustment and sharpening after resizing. Lit with a single bowens monolight and a 75° reflector. Oh and yes, the "TNT" is flipped upside down intentionally to make this photo seem even more stupid.

I'm a little sad this only got 17th. It was with my 3 top picks. Partly because it's just such nice fun shot that makes me think of those silly college days but also partly because the expression on the guy in the middle makes me laugh out loud every time I look at it! 8

My opinion is that if this picture doesn't win, something is a bit wrong with the voters. I love the expression on the middle guys face!
(Although the left guy seems to be posing for a picture, not doing something stupid)

okay, apart from the level of wackiness verging on the annoying (especially the one in the middle; looks positively a nutter), it's a pretty funny charmingly staged picture. it's also technically super; brilliantly lit and the colours (for what seems to be a night shot especially) are bright and clear and bold and lovely. the flame stuff on the left is a bit unnecessary (can't quite figure the reasoning really), but other than that greatly composed. the expression on the guy on the left is really funny. the pants on the right might have been going a bit over the top. 9.
