Wow nice balance between the upsidedown and right side up. Great capture its more than just a picture of a bug it has actual dynamic to it

i think i would probably have rotated all the way, so the ladybug was on top. great DOF, though.

Love the frozen moment in time where it looks like the spider and ladybug will do battle for survival. Tis a shame that the spider was not posed above the leaf where the viewer would be able to view the full detail of the spider while the ladybug is under the leaf - sort of a hide-and-seek shot. But one has to take the opportunity when one can and take the photo. There are some nice details in the close-up of the ladybug. I love how you can see the 'face' of the ladybug in full detail as well as those long reaching legs of the spider that menace the resting ladybug. The lighting is simply wonderful for the subject and it's environment are illuminated perfectly. Some portions of the body of the ladybug and spider are not as in sharp focus as others but that is too be expected when doing a macro/extreme close-up -especially if there is action going on. If anytime in the future you do wish to get a greater DOF where both the background and foreground are in sharp focus and get lots of detail all you need is a tripod, a higher aperature setting (F8 or higher), and slower shutter speed.

Superb ... tremendous ... amazing capture of insect activity. Going out on a leaf here, but I don't imagine you glued these characters before photographing the battle. Love the DOF and natural color of the image. 10
