I'm not much of a hunter but I wanted to start a competition with jdannels and T2 for most self portraits entered. My apologies to them and you.

Haha. was at or above 7.000 until last night, then it dropped .2 in the last day. Thanks for the votes, comments, and faves. My friends probably thought I was nuts--Mark's pulling out his tripod, camera, and two flashes at the end of a cold day?! I set it up, had one friend hold my slave flash camera right, triggered by on camera 580, and my second friend triggered the shutter. It was a very foggy day and taken right after sunset so I tried to balance the intensity of the flash to the bright part of the sky. I had a nice color version but my (borrowed) camo was all different color tones and patterns and it didn't look good.

hey mark .. very remiss of me not to have commented on this excellent photograph before .. i'd looked at it and meant to then got interrupted .. so a couple of weeks later here i am ..
WOW .!!. i'd take my hat off to you for the set-up and the amazing result you achieved, if i wore a hat that is ...
i'm getting so over seeing 1's, 2's, 3's and 4's on images of this calibre .. there's no accounting for taste tho, but i think some of those voters must have the artistic sense of microbes, either that or they have some extremely weird and questionable agenda ..
i was going to send you a pm, but seeing i'm already here i'll wish you a very HAPPY CHRISTMAS and all the best to you and your family for 2009 .. :) ..

Great shot! A surreal scene made even more surreal by the fact that you were actually hunting and took the time to create a photo.

Very nice composition and overall mood. It is different from all the others and stands out. That is a very good thing! Nice work.

good use of fill flash but the subject is a bit far from the camera ..maybe a bit tight crop would have been more effective

I love this shot. I can feel the flash reaching out to the dark background. It would be great to see the unprocessed photo for comparison. I also love the water movement. I hope no ducks were killed though! :)
