This shot needs the title "Bonding" ... It is a very good portrait. I would suggesting cropping out all that wasted space just below the edge of the son's elbow, though. 8

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:
Such a cute kid ... and such a shove off look .. there is everything candid in that look.

Composition:
The top of the head missing is an issue ... the image is slightly soft .. but that is not a major ...

Subject:
Definately meets the challenge .. although I think that many didn't think so hence the voting.

Technical (Colour and light):
Lovely natural light and good pastel colours.

To grow its vote?:
Pays to get the whole body if you can ... hard to dictate for a candid .. but sometimes we get a candid and others don't think it is real .. there is little ways around this.

Summary:
Good shot .. keep it up you are improving all the time.
