Nothing overexposed, has good detail in the focused area and the shallow DOF is good. Looks like there may be a tiny hair at the top of the cheesecake that should have been removed. Some viewers will be confused about the shot takn from floor level and that the background, which takes up pleanty of real estate, seems unrelated to the cake.

That looks like some real tasty cheesecake. I feel the background is a bit distracting though. That big white blob with 6 dark spots draws more attention than the cheesecake. I like the depth of field, but the background should have ingredients or pots and pans used to make the cheesecake.

The thing about food pictures is that the food has to, 95% of the time, look good to eat. In this image, I think you failed that. The composition and depth of field are excellent, but the cheesecake itself is rather odd and unappetizing. I think the problem lies with the color balance or maybe the lighting. The technical aspects of this are good, I just can't imagine myself eating this particular peice of cheesecake. 5 - good luck in the challenge!

It looks to me like the cheesecake is on the floor (and it might be on a countertop but it's hard to tell). I would prefer if you focused more on the cake and didn't have such a huge area in your photo out of focus and not important to the subject.

I like the cheesecake (more would be good). I like the out-of-focus kitchen, but the window destroys the image.
