...there are Mountainsby AmmieComment: Hey Hey! Look who is in 6th place... but should move up to 5th and a HM with the current Blue probably going to get a DQ! Well done Amanda. Lovely image, gorgeous time of day to get a shot and the light just emphasises the depth and contours of your back yard :-)
Lovely! |

Soloby RianBotesComment: What an image! Going through the entries this one really grabs your attention :-)
Rian I what it took to get a shot like this. I'm not sure if this is the exact way you pictured it in your mind's eye but what I do know is that it is an awesome shot. Panning with a long lens, using a fast enough shutter speed to keep bird and land sharp with the right amount of DOF... well done Mnr! And all of this whilst shivering to keep warm and after a nice hike to get to the top as well. The height from which this has been shot to overlook the mountain ranges / peaks below with the clouds rolling in and the gorgeous soft light - THIS MENEER is what the mountains are about and you have captured it magnificently!
A fave for your efforts and my viewing pleasure! |

Mountainsby RianBotesComment: Well done on the nice finish Rian. I'm sorry this model wasn't good enough for a higher finish :-)
Thanks again for a great weekend! |

And then, suddenly, the rain stopped. by ThingFishComment: Aha Fred! Man am I glad I suggested this one haha. Well done on the ribbon! This re-worked edit really works for this gloomy type of weather. I guess if you didnt have those ripples in the water it would have finished much lower down. Good capture. Well done man!! |

Full Steam Aheadby RianBotesComment: I hope this was a standing jump and not a running jump - because if you ran, jumped and slipped... well you didn't so lets not worry about it then :-)
Lovely setting and I hope you enjoyed every minute of the wonderful opportunity and spending the time with someone special was an added bonus!
As for crit on the pic - not much. Maybe just that your right arm looks a bit red to me but comp and exposure etc is very nice. Well done. |

Out of Africaby AmmieComment: Lovely Amanda!
As others have said - comp and lighting are fantastic! The lens flares help to guide the eye through the frame. Gorgeous! |

Abstractby ionelpopComment: I was hoping this would do much better! Its still a good score but I guess the voters didnt want an abstract shot probably wanted more of an animal shot. Regardless I think you should be proud of this shot - it is fantastic. The border makes the image and like blindjustice said it works because of what is not in the frame.
Print + Frame it! |

Black & Whiteby RianBotesComment: Hey Hey! Almost a 7 score but a good finish none the less. All has been said already - Great shot and lovely DOF control.
Yellow?
Glad the flame has ignited your passion again... just in time for a wonderful adventure... |
