Till the cows come homeby AmmieComment: Nice Amanda. I really love the different layers of grass, shadow, more grass, cows, more shadows and sky. Congrats on the top 10! |

Witches Cornerby RianBotesComment: I wonder which Witch is which?
Nice lead-in lines, composition, colour, light. Processing is nice and natural too.
Hope it does well Rian |

Splash Tideby RianBotesComment: Nicely Done Rian!
I think you have managed to blend the rocks nicely - more detail in the ones closest to you and more of a silhouette for the ones closest to the sun. The choice of shutter speed is simply great and I'm sure others will comment on the same fact.
Sharpening looks natural so well done there.
Above all, the composition is magnificent. Our eyes are taken on a journey from splash to splash following the movement of the water and then out to see where the waves are waiting to come in again.
I hope this does well and that it reminds you of the nice weekend you had down there and the great achievement of completing the Comrades as well. It may not seem much to you but for us mere mortals it is something to behold. |

Organic Skyscrapingby DennisheckmanComment: Only looked through the thumbnails so far and this one caught my eye - I like landscapes so its not surprising but there is something special about this shot.
The composition is really nice and the blending of shots to increase the dynamic range has been expertly done. I doubt Photomatix was used - hope I'm not wrong, it looks more "natural" although it obviously is not. I can see a small halo along the top of the horison where land meets sky but its really insignificant compared to the beauty you have captured here.
Overall a superb job and I hope to see it on the front page! |

Waitingby AmmieComment: Going to guess it is Ammie. Getting to know those ploughed fields, mountains, gorgeous golden light... oh and that German Shephard from that 49 steps (I think) challenge!
Super shot Amanda and for minimal editing you have handled the lighting very well. I'm sure some others will moan about that dark area in the top right but it doesnt really bother me because its hardly noticable.
Good luck! |
