Unwashed twin. Anybody seen my hat?by wbanningComment: photo: 7

Took me a second to understand the narrative, and I'm only guessing at this point that the hat is a reference to the cross? I find it strange how deeply saturated the sky is, i think of warm colors when I think of desert environments. I almost wish that this was taken a bit farther back - it bothers me to see the sidewalk enter the frame from 3 different points. |

Retiring: My Last Flight As Captainby Dr.ConfuserComment: photo: 5

Interesting perspective, I don't know if you're in a plane, or on a hill, but the height is believable. I think some heavier cropping to the left would have made this feel a bit more cozy. |

Covet Wendy's Craft - - - - Not Even Close!by patchesComment: photo: 5

I'm not a huge fan of squirrel shots, even though I understand the reference. I think what sets this one apart from Wendy's is that hers generally show the animal a bit more out of character - or in a more uniquely "generated" pose. With that said, the technical's are pretty spot on, there's a nice sharpness, and the bokeh is pleasing. |

lovely mix of blues and greens. I find myself thinking of yoga or deep breathing, so I think the narrative is effective, despite its abstractness. this is a zoom blur, right? |

Nice low key image with a strong relationship between title and image. I really like how the ripples have such a strong horizontal (and vertical) nature to them. For me, the magic in this shot is the top half. I feel less impressed by the lower half, but the abstract haters would get you for sure if you didn't include it. |

Good shot with a great story. Not really a memoir, but still a narrative that relates to the title. I think that the cropped ears of the cat takes a bit away from the beauty of how sharp and spunky the image is. |

Yesterday. Or maybe the day before.by raishComment: photo quality: 5

There's something compelling and voyerristic about this shot, and even though the technicals aren't perfect, it has an interesting story to it. I think that it's missed though in the title, or that the photo is a bit too much of an abstraction for the title. |

No One There; What Was Wrongby banmornComment: photo quality: 7

I like the black and white (tonemapped?) shot. Could be made better by the camera being at a different height. I like the first half of the title, but the 2nd half doesn't seem to fit the image. Everything is so perfect in the shot, clean, organized, that nothing seems wrong. What would make this narrative stronger could be something so easy as having a plate with food on it, or a chair knocked over.. |

I'm not really sure what it is I'm looking at. The swooping bird is pretty interesting, and it seems to be of a different species than the one standing on the branch, but because they're silhouetted, I just don't know. |

It's the journey, not the destination.by instepsComment: photo: 5

I'm not finding myself terribly captivated by this image, I think due to subject matter, and the "from above" perspective isn't really dramatic enough of a shift to bring me into the scene. The black and white helps, but I think what I really want is to see the face of the person leading the boat, and maybe a slower speed to show the motion (I know, it'd be killed here by the other voters, but it would be more 'true' to the title). |
