Clints and Grykesby FalcComment: Stunning... there is a bit of a fight here between the foreground and the tree as the subject. I imagine you may have tried to lower the camera angle slightly to try & get a little more light under the lower right branches of the tree, yet it seems that the hill behind it wasn't going to go away. On the other hand it may have toned down the competition between the foreground and the subject... In any event it is a very nice photo. |

The Fingers of Timeby jaxsondComment: Where is this? I'd like to see this in person. There was a tree in Chico California that used to be similar to this but it gave up the fight! In fact I just thought that this would make a great prop for Gary & his brothers to make another appearance! WOW! |

Lonely at the Topby NeilComment: What a day (and place) for a daydream! I like the tones and colors. It looks as though you may have used a polarizing filter without overdoing the effect, I wonder if you could possible tone that effect down slightly and add a slightly warmer feel to photo. I'll be interested to see your shooting data on this. This is the type of scene that makes me want to take the innards out of my D1x and put it in one of my antique 'view' cameras with the f128 apature. |

First Sprinkleby SherwinJamesComment: Great lighting ! The sprinkle looks like dust rather than mist to me. Is this growing out of a piece of lava? |

Bent But Not Broken by jrjrComment: I like the composure here and the way the tones and lighting frame the subject tree. I am also captivated by the likelihood that this tree grew at that location... It looks to me as though some extraordinary forces planted a very large piece of driftwood for us to marvel over. The post processing of the photo isn't quite as subtle as I prefer yet I suspect that it takes harshness out of the scene which would likely be more distracting. |

Monkey Puzzle Treeby GeeeComment: I like the subject quite a bit... It's very 'busy' and some creative after dark lighting might produce some desireable effects. |
