Long exposure, high ISO.... hmmmmm there can be weird effects. But........ across the frame. The fact that these blobs all intersect a power line is very interesting. I believe your supposition that the camera is seeing light we can't see may be true. Or it could have been a momentary thing captured by the long exposure. Where exactly was this photo taken? I suspect these lines are very high voltage lines.

I have seen something like this but it was ball lightning following a power line. There was a raging T storm going on at the time. This doesn't appear to be the case in your shot. The ball lightning was green......
