I gave this a six, and I might have scored it higher had I liked the colours a little more ;) I personally rather liked the unique take... it's very much something I would expect from a painter, but I'm not surprised that it wasn't well received. DPCers are often more concerned with the technical side of things than the creative (amazing given that most of us have no education whatsoever in photography) and tend to jump on anything they don't see as fitting the challenge (unrelated technicalities). It's pretty easy to not meet the challenge here. We've all done it. :)

The clarity here is good, but the lack of surroundings does a number on the appeal of this photograph IMO. I would love to see even just a little bit of foreground. Otherwise, this is a nicely done shot - both the sky and the shadows look great; the exposure seems to be right on.

Lovely. This one has a real sense of serenity about it, probably helped by the soft pastel colours, and the fact that it's not a studio shot only adds to the appeal. Beautiful work.

My eyes are a bit more drawn to the glasses than your face, but nonetheless this is a very cool picture. The lighting seems to be just about right, and the clarity is excellent. The toning really works for the photograph; overall nice work.
