The tree and the stream continue their connection after the bank was undercut. The bright brown leaves in the foreground nicely and subtly frame the image.

Good title. The tree is leaning forward (to grossly anthropomorphize) in its effort. The entire setting is appealing, from the field of grasses to the meek wire fence to the horizon of low trees to the dark sky. I also like the overall softness.

The serenity of this locale is beautifully captured. Well balanced. Is that a person in a hammock to the left of the tree base? An alligator?

Along with the impressive luxuriance of the tree's leaves, this picture is comical in an understated way --- a brigade of wall-e-like characters ready for action. Or garbage cans, whatever. I like the framing that allows the foreground to continue opening outward.

The tree in the water seems to be some elongated animal straining to reach the other bank. That's the tension I feel here on this gray day.
