Alas, the rain came far too lateby AmmieComment: This photo says, "Look, look what happened." We're at the mercy of this beautiful world. It's important to face this and here we're forced to do so. Admirable presentation. |

Brittle Beautyby klbensonskComment: Nice study of a dead flower which has caught some snow in passing. The white area to the right competes for the viewer's attention. |

fortune leakage by TiberiusComment: There's a sad air of inevitability here. I like the lighting, which is consonant with the mood. I also like the placement of the dish, which seems to be already moving on. |

Hinterland Grassesby APComment: There's an appealing softness to this landscape, well-framed by the foreground tree, enhanced by the fading barn-like structure. The white house(?) at the back edge of the field is a distraction for me, but perhaps I'm being fussy. |

Casualties of the Wildfireby hahn23Comment: Such an undignified demise, fire taking advantage of their noble steadfastness. Sure, it's rampant anthropomorphism, but this fine image brings on a sadness, even knowing it's part of the natural cycle. Barring arson, that is, which brings on anger. |

Deceptively Delicateby MaryOComment: Lovely image, enhanced by the bokeh. A lot of space in the background, but that's an artistic choice. |

Seed Podsby franktheyankComment: Here is a lovely depiction nature's handsome architecture. Though obviously past their prime, they're still right smack in the conversation. |

Clinging to Hopeby LinMalAngComment: Somewhat garish, death with lipstick, but it certainly engages the senses. Maybe I've missed the point and the intention is to be brash and in your face, challenging death at its own game. In that case, bravo! |

Petrified Oaksby WarbyComment: Well-paired and stately in the sunlight, they've found dignity in death. This is an uplifting picture, one of my favorites in the challenge. Erotic overtones aside. |
