Clever! I'd like to see the string more neatly (and iconically) tied with a classic and exaggerated shoe-string knot. Maybe that means you have to starch and iron your string... (!) The carrot could have done with a good scrubbing, too, but maybe it's just a low-rez image issue.

This image had great possibilities -- but the very short DOF and harsh flash didn't serve well. I would have opted not to use the macro. Since this is digital, shoot LOTS of pix, trying different solution!!!!

Nice, graphic. I think it could be improved with better focus or sharpening, it needs a touch more contrast within the subject (which, incidentally, would provide the tonal range necessary for the perception of sharp edges). With the added subject contrast, the background would go darker, which wouldn't be a bad thing at all.
