This is a real good idea. The colors are good. I think this particular point of view is hurting the presentation though. The building in the background and the dark oof branch that is in front of the lens seem to be quite distracting. And the heavy contrast between the branches up in the blue sky area and the sky is resulting in some bad ca (purple fringing). I would suggest moving around and trying to frame your shot so there are no distracting elements, try to make it so everything in the shot contributes to the theme. You could also try and get in closer, and fill the frame with your subject (the leaves).

Ah, this theme/concept has been widespread in this challenge, understandably. This is a very good conveyance of that idea. The choice of composition is good for this, no superflous elements, everything present serves the theme. A graphic look that I like, and seems to work well. My only minor nitpick, is the hands look a little flat, contrast wise. I wonder if a little different levels or curves tweaking could add a wee punch? A good photo, I like it for this challenge. :-)

An interesting idea. It seems like very harsh light, like onboard flash. Usually, one can get much more control, and flattering lighting either using available natural light, or controlled lighting, like studio lights, work lights or even smart use of household lamps, lights and such. Photography is all about light. There are some great tutorials on the site about lighting.
