The crop is what makes the circles the focal point here - that is effective. I think this is a boat, and for me, identifying the object is important.

You just don't see many macros of toads... but you got it, warts and all. The background detracts a bit, but the circles on the toad's back, along with his visible eye, are the main focal point - satisfies the challenge to me.

Glass Lenses

I like the lenses, and I like the lighting... there's an element of interest missing for me right now. Probably the background - I wouldn't know they were lenses w/o the title.

First thing I notice here is that scrolling the page has a weird effect on the eye. I'm guessing the lighting aspect of this is the shadows on the ceiling - if that's the case, they're hard to see - if this didn't appear with sepia qualities, that might work better.

Commentary/critique...
Lighting/composition: I like the lighting in this photograph. The high contrast between inside and out really makes the two places stand out; the same may be said about the girl, as she is emphacized by this contrast change. I also like the bit of glow that naturally comes off of her head.
Content: Seeing as this photo finished so high, I don't want to make too much comment here... and I really do like the framing on this. The cropping you did has some options, like coming a bit higher on the bottom, but the way it is the girl seems nearly centered and that works for this shot. Nice work.
