I think you're on to something here. Black and white is very nice here. I like the blown out background since it helps keep your focus on the grasshopper. you've got great detail and his tone is on spot. I'm not sure about the little frame, part of me wants to hate it but I don't know why, it is suttle and clean so I'm not sure what my problem is. I think you're off to a good start.

Did you use that cameras full 10x zoom? Couldn't believe they put that in the small point and shoots but not the later models like my 5050z :(

I like this image, the direction she is looking is perfect and I like the negative space BUT her face doesn't seem as sharp as it should be. I think it had a lot of potential if it weren't for that.

The foreground petels are much softer and more blurred than the ones behind the bee, (probably because you had to shoot so fast to catch this little guy) which hurts the image some. I like the colors and placement of the flower and bee in the image and the white borders adds a little extra touch to it.

Very nice image, I love the sky and water's reflection. The trees on the left and right make a nice path to lead your eyes from the front of the image to the back. Nice suttle framing too.

First thought was..Hey their dead! lol I know they are just lying dow but is weird how one is standing and one is lying in each group. I like the variety of their positions in the image. Colors seem a tad bit dull but not too bad.
