Returning from the huntby jbsmithanaComment: I didn't really care for the out of focus wood in the foreground. I'd also like to see more detail, maybe with a closer crop (though maybe this is okay in a larger size than 640 px), although I do like the inclusion of the ducks. |

'trust'by suemackComment: I have only voted on 38% so far, but I'd be very surprised if this wasn't my choice for the blue... |

Isolatedby KarenNfldComment: Shit! I just wrote a bloody long comment here, and the damned thing timed out on me and I lost it. I will attempt to recreate it...
I could argue about the 'isolated' bit, but then, I know the context... Trying hard to think of it out of context, yeah I guess it fits the bill. The upper portion of the image adds nothing, and I'm not very fond of the fence. If I scroll down such that the left-most bit of fence is just about to the top (and the other section just about out of the frame) I think it's a little better. I'm having a little trouble with the detail. I'm not sure if it's a focus issue, a sharpening issue, or a simple matter of the resizing (it is a lot of detail to try to cram into 640px). The rocks look good, but there are bits of the houses that look a little soft, and bits that look a little jagged around the edges. Maybe I'm just looking too closely. In that sense, it might be better to zoom in a little closer so that I can clearly see some of the detail I want to see, or maybe out further so that I'm not as tempted by tantalizing detail that I know should be there. Okay, I'm done criticizing--it is a nice shot! I'd love to see it tomorrow under all that snow (have hardly seen a bloody flake in ON since Christmas). |

Cayote (Not Ugly)by ZippyComment: DOF seems a little shallow, which might be okay if the focus was on the eye/face, but it seems to be on the chest/front leg. Really, I think stopping down a bit would be best--it's not as if there are distracting elements in the foreground or background that it would be best to blur out. That said, I can appreciate that you may not have had much time to get the shot! |

THE BIRDS!by melismaticaComment: I really like the idea, but the UDO (unidentified distracting object) in the corner really takes away from it. I'm not normally one to complain much about noise (I'd rather see a little noise than have something neat imaged to death), but the noise in the sky is quite noticeable even from a distance. |

Eye Contact by jjbeguinComment: This is an awesome shot!
The guy looks vaguely like Robert De Niro at first glance. |

Daddy, can I feed the birds?by gseidenComment: I like the composition, and I love the way the birds turned out, but the reflective stripes really take away from the whole thing. |
