This was in my top four in this challenge. I thought the patterns created on the wall by the light streaking through the window were worhty of a picture in their own right. The upturned chairs, neglected walls and the blackboard on the wall all gave a nostalgic feel to the picture. Additionally I thought the toning and the handling of the tonal range were very good.

Absolutely fantastic picture. It has the atmosphere of a real candid. The minor technical shortcomings mean nothing alongside the plus points; the soft lighting, the poses of the girls, the composition, the subtle colours...

It was one of (I think) two tens I gave in this challenge. I can't believe it wasn't a top three finish.

Looks like they didn't, which is a shame. I gave this one a 9. Only a suggestion of too much light on the gerberas for my taste stopped me adding it to the two 10s I gave.

Beautiful light on the grapes and the bread and just enough on the bottle and the glass to give some sparkle. I suppose people were looking for neon streaks ;)

Very gritty, excellent treatment, perfectly in keeping with the subject.

Agreed, especially on the power and impact. The simplicity, the subtle lighting and the colours made this a potential winner for me. However, the imperfect pepper made the perfectionist in me drop the mark to a 7 ;)

This is a beautiful image, the lighting is so delicate, the pose, the model, the rose, all work so well.

I can hardly believe this isn't in the top ten.
