COPY OF A MESSAGE SENT TO ALL MY DPC FRIENDS RE MY HEALTH - MAY 2012
BELOW IS A LETTER I HAVE WRITTEN TO ALL MY SPECIAL FRIENDS AT DPC... I KNOW IT WILL MAKE YOU SAD BUT I NEEDED TO SHARE THIS WITH YOU AS YOU HAVE BEEN AN AWESOME FRIEND TO US BOTH. MY HEARING IS NOT TO GOOD AT THE MOMENT EVEN WITH HEARING AIDS DUE TO SINUSITIS SO UNABLE TO HEAR YOU ON THE PHONE XOX.
TO ALL MY DEAR DPC FRIENDS WHO HAVE TOUCHED ME...
I AM WRITING THIS WITH TEARS IN MY EYES. MY YEARS AT DPC HAVE BEEN SO SPECIAL TO ME, AS I MADE SOME AMAZING FRIENDS. EVEN THOUGH I AM NOT ABLE TO TAKE PHOTOS ANY MORE HAVE REMAINED MY FRIENDS. THE PAST FIVE YEARS, MY HEALTH HAS DECLINED, AND HAVE GONE SO FAST, TWO SPECIAL GRANDSONS ONE FROM EACH BEAUTIFUL SON. I EVEN TURNED 60 TWO YEARS AGO. I NEVER THOUGHT I BE LUCKY TO REACH THAT MILESTONE.
MY PHOTOGRAPHY CAME TO A HALT DUE TO HEALTH ISSUES, BUT MY FRIENDS HERE KEPT ME CLOSE, IN MY HEART EVERYDAY. I BLESSED TO HAVE THE FRIENDS HERE AND THE OTHER FRIENDS IN MY LIFE, THAT ARE SPECIAL TO ME...MY FAMILY ALSO FILLS ME WITH PRIDE ESPECIALLY THE ONES THAT ARE CLOSE AND NEAR.
I WILL BE LOST WITH MY HUSBAND AND SOUL MATE. WE COME A FULL CIRCLE AND NOW IT MAY BE TOO LATE.
I NOT SURE HOW MUCH TIME I HAVE LEFT. I KNOWN FOR AWHILE IT MAY BE CLOSE. I KEPT IT INSIDE OF ME FOR TO LONG. MY CARERS THAT VISIT, ESPECIALLY THE HEALTH NURSE, CAME TO SEE ME RECENTLY DUE TO MY DECLINE IN MY HEALTH. WE TALKED FOR AGES UNTIL SHE SAID TO ME âAM I AFRAID OF DYINGâ AND I SAID NO WAY. I BEEN BLESSED WITH THE LIFE I HAD AND PROVED THE DOCTORS WRONG, THAT TOLD MY MOTHER I WILL NOT LIVE LONG.
MY BREATHING RE THE ASTHMA, ASPIRATING, CHOKING AND CONTINUOUS CHEST INFECTIONS ARE CATCHING UP WITH ME.
MY FEAR IS THAT ONE DAY SOON, ONE OF THESE TURNS I WILL NOT RECOVER. ALONG WITH MANY OTHER ISSUES TO DEAL WITH, I KNOW MY TIME IS NEAR. DO NOT BE SAD AS I NEED TO KNOW YOU ARE THEIR FOR ME NO MATTER WHAT.
MY HEALTH NURSE ASKED ME WHAT DO I WONT AND I SAID CALMNESS LOVE AND PEACE FOR ME TO SAY GOODBYE TO MY LOVED WHEN IT MY TURN TO DIE. IT MAY BE MONTHS OR A YEAR OR TWO WE DO NOT KNOW. I CANNOT FIGHT THE DEMONS ANY MORE. I NEED PEACE IN MY LIFE UNTIL MY LIFES JOURNEYS ENDS.
THE HARDEST THING I HAVE TO DO, IS NOT TELLING YOU, BUT SHARE THIS WITH YOU AND MY FAMILY WHO MEAN THE WORLD TO ME. I AM NOW BEING HELPED BY THE PALLIATIVE CARE TEAM HERE AT DOVE COTTAGE, MY SPIRITUAL HOME FOR ME WHEN IT IS MY TIME. I AM STILL HOME WITH PETER UNTIL WE CANNOT COPE WITH ALL THE CARE FROM THE PEOPLE THAT WE NEED. I CAN HAVE RESPITE WHEN MY BODY NEEDS IT AND ALSO A PLACE FOR ME TO GO WHILE MY HUSBAND SPENDS TIME WITH OUR SONS FOR THEIR 30TH AND 40TH BIRTHDAY IN AUGUST. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE EMBRACED THE TIME WE HAVE TO DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.
I HAVE COME FULL CIRCLE AND KNOW I AM BLESSED TO HAVE THE LOVED ONES IN MY LIFE. I JUST NEEDED TO SHARE THIS WITH YOU SO YOU KNOW. AT LEAST I HAVE TIME TO MAKE EACH AND EVERYDAY COUNT. THAT'S WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO ME FROM NOW ON.

2011 - I have returned to DPC in a less active roll due to my health. The past few years I had to come to terms with my health issues, re Nerve damage to my spine, arms, hands and fingers and also legs. Still need my ventalin and Oxygen for breathing problems. My eye sight is not to good, and I have not taken any photos for the past two years. Yes I do miss it so much but I still love looking at the challenge entries and cathing up with what my DPC friends are doing. I will try and comment on entries that appeal to me for duscussion and vote also when well enough.
I was over the moon when some dear DPC friends suggested a DPC CHALLENGE in the style of  Sherpet and more excited when  Langdon approved it...How exciting to have a tribute like that given to someone, especially me..... THANK YOU to the ones who helped this to happen. Looking forward to seeing the entries and voting and commenting on them. love from shez re Sherpet
My family is a huge support to me especially my wonderful husband Peter who is my full time carer. I be totally lost without him.[/b]
Here is a little about me - My husband Peter, is my best friend, soul mate, and carer. Our eldest son Ryan is married to Lauren, and they had there first child, a son named Judd, on the 16-2-2007.
Our other son Blake, is very happy with his life with his partner Kerry, and they also had a son Landon, on the 30-3-2008. We are so happy to have two beautiful grandsons. Both of our sons live in Melbourne, and we are very proud of both our boys, and there family.
We are retired, and live in Caloundra, at the Sunshine Coast, in Queensland, Australia. We live in a village situation, and we planted a tropical garden out the back of our home. I spend most of my time taking photos of my favorite plants in our garden, my neighbours gardens, and also in our park.
Both my husband and I, were born with a disability, known as "dwarfism", or we refer to it as someone with "short stature". I am only 4 feet in height, or about a meter. I love life, but have many other physical, as well as health issues, to deal with.
I also have bone degenerative disease, similar to arthritis, and nerve damage to my spine. I also suffered a mini stroke at birth, and this is now causing sight, hearing, and nerve damage problems to my spine. I now have to use a walker to get around. I do not want sympathy, as I love life, and treat each and every day as the "best day of my life".

WHY I USE CAPITALS ... FOR OVER A YEAR NOW I HAVE BEEN USING CAPITALS RE ALL MESSAGES AND TEXT I TYPE DUE TO MY EYESIGHT. MY RIGHT EYE IS NOW OVER 75 % LOSS AND MY LEFT EYE IS STRUGGLING TO HELP ME SEE. THE BEST SIGHT I HAVE IS BLURRED AND OFTEN SEE DOUBLE... NOTHING CAN BE DONE NOW TO CORRECT THIS DUE TO THE STROKE I HAD AT BIRTH AND WITH MY AGES IT HAS NOW GOT TO THE POINT THAT I MAY BE BLIND COMPLETELY WITHIN THE NEXT FEW YEARS. MANY OF YOU KNOW WHY I USE CAPITALS BUT THERE ARE A FEW THAT DON'T SO LEAVING THIS HER IF PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW WHY... IT IS NOT A FORM OF AGGRESSION OR ANGER OR SHOUTING IN ANY WAY... IT JUST FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE TEXT AND HELP ME CORRECT ANY MISTAKES I MAKE...MANY OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY USE CAPITALS WHEN TYPING AND ALSO MESSAGING ME FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO READ IT MUCH EASIER.
