Nice juxtaposition. The cropping is too close to the Soldier on the left. I would have tried to crop it more letterbox style, but perhaps that wasn't possible here.

The desaturation seems too dull. Perhaps some higher contrast would do better.

Finally, if the Soldier hadn't grinned directly at the camera, I think this would have been a perfect candid. 7

He looks like a pretty big fellow. The scales on his lower half look great. He looks a little dirty on top, but I don't suppose you have much control over that. Also I don't like the spot of light on his nose and back. Still great shot! 8
