wintry walkby xtineComment: Nice use of image grain. Perhaps a bit overdone, but still very effective. Nice green toning. |

Sanguine Sunsetby CutterComment: Beautiful scene, however it seems a bit awkward to me. The sky is dark, gloomy, and uninviting while the foreground is the exact opposite - inviting, vibrant color. While this contrast makes for an interesting effect, it's quite a stretch from what the eye would see. I'm guessing (though I can't be sure) that you shot raw and combined a dark and light exposure to make this photograph.
On the bright side, however, this image is a very interesting study in surrealism. |

Winter Dawnby Bear_MusicComment: Nice shot. I love the "No lifeguard on duty" sign, it really adds to the photo and enhances the mood and atmosphere. Also, I like that the tower isn't completely sillhouetted against the sunset - there's a healthy amount of detail present. Great job.
Edit: How about burning in the sky and corners of the sand via a gradient overlay to contain the image more?
Edit 2: I think this could be a very interesting portraiture study if you had someone sit up in the tower. That would have a whole different feel to it though and would evoke totally different emotions. Message edited by author 2006-01-12 03:14:33. |
