Angelby thalassaComment: Interesting take. Great colors and clarity. I would have liked some negative space on the left- too close a crop. I usually favor eyes looking into the frame rather than out, if you know what I mean. Good luck. 8 |

A message from on high - peace above all!by rdebruynComment: It took me a while but I finally realized what you were going for i.e the rays from heaven over the church and all. But here is a case where in an effort to meet the challenge category, composition is given a back seat. 1st the light pole and branches are a big distraction and add nothing. (different crop perhaps?) 2nd the light from above is not strong enough to make a statement and too strong that it washes out the buildings. (Shadows/Highlights or more contrast?) Lovely sentiment. Keep working at it! Good luck. |

St. James Episcopal Churchby ZeppKashComment: It appears by the windows that you were a little heavy handed with the sharpening. Whatever it is, it detracts from the overall effect. Interesting angle.7 |

Gateway to Coos Bayby SouthCoastOr3gonComment: Coulda' been great. I know one has to take the pic that is there sometimes, not the one we wish were there, but the sunset throws the pic into chaos. Maybe not chaos but the eye does not know where to go.The pic might have been better even without the sunset. A bridge silhouette may have been great alone (I am assuming you could not change your angle to the sunset). I don't know. The other compositional issue could be that the pic is virtually cut in half even considering the angle. Still I like it.8 |
