Xiao Yue - Means Beautifulby ElliottjmsComment: When resizing to DPC size, it's often helpful to run an extra layer of sharpening...
Incidentally, how does Xiao Yue mean Beautiful? I know of no such word combination.
A more likely combination is 'small moon'. It would seem to be a fitting name for such a child as well. |

Horsebarn Hillby JunieMoonComment: Please be careful with your file sizes. This one weighs in at 75KB, but you were allowed nearly 3 times that... Why? Look at the nasty pixelation in the sky and the odd grid-pattern that has shown up in areas of fine detail in the grass.
Photographically, It's a very beautiful place, but I think I would have cropped the very left edge off for a bit of minimalistic feel... otherwise, you are left looking for the subject. Interesting that it is named Horsebarn when there is no barn visible.
Additionally, I would have used a layer of contrast and sharpening to bring out that tree and I probably would have used hue or selective color to suck those yellows outta that grass. |

Thai Boat Silhouetteby michael_pComment: Beautiful. Too bad about the banding in the sky... I wonder if perhaps that was a gradient you might have forgotten to dither...? |

Unable to Contain it!by TlemetryComment: Nice concept. Can't say I care much for the yellow color cast... If you could get the white lace white, I would guess that the rest of this picture would really come into its own. |

The Heat Of Summerby danderson107Comment: Man, this is great... Right down to the brown speckling on the stem indicating that the flower is not in the best of conditions...
Only one real disappointment is that your reds channel is badly suffering from oversaturation. Please check your histogram before and after post processing. The pistils suffer badly here, but the edges of the petals are also affected. Nonetheless, for later, you could easily fix that, so I'll just pull it down a bit on technical merit. |

Family Reunionby scalvertComment: AHHHHHHdorable!
and
AHHHHHHH the dreaded back-focusing issue. Might have been a bit tricky to pull this off with a deeper DOF due to available light, its hard to tell.
Other than that, it's extremely well done. the expressions on their faces and the arm over the shoulder is pretty damned close to priceless. |

Cool, Tempting, Refreshing..... "HEY, Get outta my shot!"by TCGuruComment: Funny thing is, if you had given this a bit more exposure time, you might have been surprised that those people might have done a bit for the picture. Indeed, some might even have disappeared from the shot. The ones on the left would have smudged, the guy sitting there with his son would probably have not moved and been a stark, sharp subject, while the two playing in the water on the right would probably have blurred to near nothingness... F/16, solid ND filter and 2-5 seconds might be a fun place to start. |
