just had a thought. I wonder if you were to put a couple layers of sharpening on this quite strongly, but use the layers just to push the contrast at the edges of things... the result would be that you would get a bit more of a 'soft focus' look (kind of looking like a layer of haze over an image that is sharp...)...
just an idea. set the layer mode of one to darken and the other to lighten and play with radius and opacity on each layer... see what comes of it. |

Cute expression here.
You probably already have been getting comments about watching out for cutting off the feet and the main focal point been a bit out of focus.
Have you considered making this a black & white? Often slighty soft images benefit from getting a higher contrast lack & white conversion. Just a thought anyway. |

very cute, right on the border between a great portrait and a good snapshot. can't really tell if the soft focus was intentional, or just the way it turned out. |

Great capture though the focus is a bit too soft especially in the face. Good luck! |

a bit out of focus and her shoes are clipped at the bottom of the frame, but this is such a beautiful child in a great outfit that it still works pretty well. |

camera movement or soft focus doesn't help here. I like to color and the backlight. |

Great pose, really excellent.
Lovely bokeh help to give the innocent child a nice soft environment, it just seems a little out of focus or soft, whether that's intentional or not, it's not to my taste. |

A wonderful capture. The bokeh background is very nice. The focus on the girl just seems a little soft. |

I would have preferred a better focus on the little girl - too blurry |

Best: Expression, hand
Worst: too soft - bordering on OOF, include all of shoes |

When resizing to DPC size, it's often helpful to run an extra layer of sharpening...
Incidentally, how does Xiao Yue mean Beautiful? I know of no such word combination.
A more likely combination is 'small moon'. It would seem to be a fitting name for such a child as well. |
