Nuclear Holocaustby NerdJNerdBirdComment: such a fun effect. sadly, I'm not a huge fan of sprawling citscapes since I live in an part of the world that has entirely too much. Additionally, there seems to be a lot of detail that has been lost in resizing. This has led to a somewhat unclear subject.
Still, I'll give it a bit of a push since I was once told 'DPCers are not generally fans of heavy color shifts... assuming that these are not the natural colors that is... |

Just marriedby GordonComment: You nailed this one! It almost looks like you put a tiny bit of softness via gentle gaussian blur on the left to soften the ladies while keeping the guys (in the same field of focus) sharp. If so, well conceived. If not, looks great anyhow. It's early yet, but tossing my first 9 at this one. |

City Reflectionsby zaflaboutComment: Someone's been practicing the PS skillz. The only thing I saw that I don't like is the slightly exessive burn in the top right area of clouds and what appears to be bad edges in the middle right of the clouds with bright spots... There's a bit of smudgy grey directly to the right of the two towers as well. If its natural, no big deal, but it looks like you might have slightly overdone something in that area... On the other hand, there are some dingy tones in the clouds on the horizon on the left that I really like. Be careful with overdoing the processing on the sky, particularly when it is reflected in water...
Still quite impressive.
I also see some weird edging in the water... I wonder if this is not so much processing, but JPG artifacts. I had a quick look and your file size is 89K... that's pretty heavy compression for such a rich and large pic... I wonder if at 200k if these effects were to disappear completely... |

Wicklow Mountainsby aznymComment: I hope this isn't in Iceland... :)
On the left in the clouds, there appears to be some obvious burning edges.... Don't much care for the grey in the cloud on the top right, a bit more dodging might have helped that... The rest is pretty damned nifty though. |

Singing for Changeby jrtoddComment: High levels of funkyness were found in this picture. I would have gotten my dirty little fingers in there and brought up the blue in his eyes... and I would have messed it up probably.
Good balance. |

Heading Homeby TimComment: I really like how you did this. I'm not sure if the mist is all natural, but it certainly feels like there is some processing at work here. A bit of extra dodging on that path would really give this a magical zing. |

End of the Seasonby salmiakkiComment: Everything leads to the primary subject - the lock - which is not in focus. The impact of the photo is lacking as a results. Things that might help could include a bit of a contrast boost in that area... |

Dauntingby baco99Comment: Nice light vs dark there. Too bad the center is off-center... the bottom seems straight, so not much you can do about it. Architectural shots are tricky. Also, watch for blown highlights in the clouds. Maybe a bit of HDR type layering with a tiny bit of burn might have helped a bit in the early stages of processing. |

Vulture 1by UnRed DaveComment: Cool shot. Could probably use just a smidgen off the right and bottom. I would have gone typical thirds with this one with the boarder on the right third and the carve on the left third. the negative space isn't really adding much imho. It looks tack sharp and I bet that the pic would indeed look better with those elements enlarged via the cropping of excess. |
