Waves and Ripplesby BeeCeeComment: This looks like a plastic photoshop filter.. curious to learn what it is in reality. Nice outstanding image. |

Metamorphasisby namastedcComment: I've seen one image using minimal horz. resolution. You're risking with the minimal vertical size. Nice shot, that cannot be appreciated as it should because of its size. 6. |

Rhythm Impressionismby charliebakerComment: You must know that 160 pixels is way too small to get the right feel for this one. But I like it, trying to imagine what would it look like, say 320 px wide ;-) |

Soaring on Wings of Silver by scalvertComment: I'll make a web site suggestion for rules modification:
Allowing photoshopping wrinkles out of sheets in basic editing we shall.
Congrats, Shannon. Very nice, and simple, yet effective (obviously).

Took the training wheels off - Hooray!!!by glad2badadComment: One of my favorites for the challenge. Technically, really sub-standard for DPC. However, the challenge theme is met 100%. This is a posterchild image for how an excellent shot of a shoehorned subject (I go to mountains on my weekends, I look at bugs for my weekend, I enjoy dogs/cats/mice/snakes/gerbils on the weekend) can surpass otherwise perfectly fitting but poorly executed shot.
Best of luck to the little fellow! |

sf1.jpgby liltritterComment: This one isn't bad. There is a nice backlight from the sun on the upper petals, and the composition is very appealing to the eye. Colors are clear and vibrant, all in all this is one above average flower shot. |

sf2.jpgby liltritterComment: As jmsetzler once noted, you can be your best critic: What did you try to show with this photo? What made you take this one, from this angle, with this composition? If you can answer those, (and post the answer into your comments above) then I might be able to relate to the photo some more.
This way, I see a half-closed, perhaps half-dried sunflower, without any context to understand why was this photo worth taking. It is lacking visual appeal of a beautiful healthy colorful plant, and the surrounding leaves are, well, also not that appealing.
Sorry, this was a miss. |

inside.jpgby liltritterComment: I'm afraid that the DOF is too shallow for the macro-style shot. The light on the bug is too low, so it does not help it stand out... nice try but just does not have a wow factor for me. |
