Porch Lightby 777STANComment: nice abstract piece. I'm afraid the voters will not be kind, but don't worry. I wish more people would submit stuff like this, |

Speed Out The Frameby TiberiusComment: when I was doing research about motion blur, a book suggested that you shoot with a busy background so the blur can be seen. Here, it is hard to get a good read on the speed because there is no contrast in the background. Also, it is sort of standard to have more negative space in front of a subject's implied line of motion. In other words, the motorcycle should be driving into empty space rather than off the frame. That is a classical rule. (don't have to follow it of course,)
Good work. 6 |

When Water Breaks Free.......by kenskidComment: Good choice of content. I'm feeling like you need to crop in from the left. The tall tree is framing the building nicely, but then you have this gap of blue sky that holds the eye and keeps it from focusing on the house. On location, moving closer and to the right would help. This is also a good candidate for some more post processing. Looks like it is straight out of the camera.
Boost the contrast. Darken the corners, particularly in the sky.
good work. |
